I’ve joined the twenty–first century and recorded a podcast. In true me style, I took ages doing it—not that you’d know from the way the sound is all over the place at times—and am now scared to share it. BUT, here we go: it’s on Podbean, and is called Avoid Excessive Cleavage. I’ve named it after the first half of my show title—it’s full title is Avoid Excessive Cleavage (and other advice to ignore)—which I’ve now become rather attached to as I’ve realised it sort of says everything about all the rules women are supposed to follow that make me so angry.
It took me A LOT longer researching how to record one of these things, where and how to upload it, and all manner of other technical bits and pieces than it did to actually talk into a microphone for a bit. I’ve found out what an RSS link is, for example. I mean, I still don’t really know what it is but I know I need one.
Apparently using one of these hosting platforms means it’s easy to share your podcast to all the other podcast places—but I think “easy” is a relative term in this case and I was so relieved to have managed to get it up and running (kind of) that it’s now just sitting there exclusively on Podbean not being listened to by anyone. Poor lonely little podcast. There are billions of podcasts out there, I know, and quite a few of them aren’t necessarily… erm… high quality content? But what if mind is THE WORST ONE EVER? Although, mine isn’t really aimed at the same audience as some of those, I guess. How do you get the right people to give it a whirl? It’s a minefield.
Right, here goes. My podcast is called Avoid Excessive Cleavage and it’s here: Avoid Excessive Cleavage Podcast. It’s only eighteen and a bit minutes long so it won’t eat into your life too much. If you listen, I love you. If you just let it run in the background and don’t really listen, I still love you.
Literally cringing as I share this. Here we go….
